I don't know if I have good model or if something else is happening, but I could use some help. I also tried to install the Microsoft Windows XP Fix for the problems of USB 2.0 driver (Q826959) available on the website, with similar results (except the mouse continues to work through the installation process). After the reboot, my mouse works again, but a window pops up saying new hardware has been found, it tries to install the USB drivers but fails. When I install it, my mouse was subsequently no longer works, and once installation is complete, it asks me to restart the computer. I used this site to find drivers.īy using this site, I found the drivers for everything but the USB com I tried to use the Driver Intel USB 2.0 available on this site. Unfortunately the HP drivers and support site does not seem to recognize a 'D51S' model, but I was able to find the drivers to work a model called "D510 Small Form Factor". My computer is labelled with a sticker that says "D51S/P253/40/K/512d US". The computer is a Compaq Evo with XP Professional Service Pack 3 installed, S/N V311 KN9ZE292. ![]() I got most everything works but I can't find a driver for "USB COM. I recently had to re - install windows on one of our computers, and of course, we did not have a driver diskette.
